This policy explains what information Useful Builds (“we”, “us”) collects through usefulbuilds.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. We have written it to reflect what this website actually does, rather than everything a website could do.

Who we are

Useful Builds is an independent technology consultancy based in Sydney, Australia. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

Information you give us

When you use the enquiry form, we collect the details you enter: your name, work email address, company (optional), the type of help you need, and your project details. You can also contact us directly by email, in which case we hold whatever you choose to send.

Technical information

Our hosting provider records standard server logs when you visit, which can include your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and timestamps. We use these to keep the site secure and reliable. The enquiry form also applies rate limiting by IP address to prevent abuse; this is held briefly in memory and is not stored.

Analytics and cookies

This website does not currently use analytics, advertising or marketing cookies. If we introduce privacy-conscious analytics in the future, we will update this policy.

How we use your information

• Vercel hosts the website and processes requests and server logs.
• Resend delivers enquiry-form submissions to our business mailbox as email.

Each provider only processes information needed to perform its service. Some of these providers store data outside Australia (including in the United States). By submitting the form you acknowledge your information may be handled overseas by these providers under their own privacy terms.

We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect our legal rights.

How long we keep it

Enquiry emails are kept for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to you, carry out any work we agree on, and meet our record-keeping obligations. You can ask us to delete your enquiry at any time, and we will do so unless we need to retain it for a legal reason.

Security

The website is served over HTTPS. Form submissions are validated on our server and sent directly to our mailbox; this website does not operate a database of submissions. Access to our mailbox is limited to the people who need it to respond to you.

You can ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you by contacting us using the details below. If you have a concern about how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can try to resolve it. You can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
